Principle and Application of KTN600Total Nitrogen Analyzer
The total nitrogen content in water is one of the important indexes to measure the water quality. Its determination is helpful to evaluate the pollution and self-purification of water body. A large amount of domestic sewage, farmland drainage or nitrogen-containing industrial wastewater is discharged into the water body, which increases the content of organic nitrogen and various inorganic nitrogen compounds in the water, propagates a large number of organisms and microorganisms, consumes dissolved oxygen in the water, and deteriorates the water quality. When there is excessive nitrogen and phosphorus in hupo and reservoir, the phytoplankton will multiply and become eutrophic.
Principle: under the condition of high temperature, high pressure and alkalinity, oxidizer oxidizes ammonia nitrogen, nitrite nitrogen and organic nitrogen in water sample to nitrate. In concentrated sulfuric acid medium, nitrate reacts with chromogenic agent to form light yellow Nitro compound. The absorbance of the compound is proportional to the total nitrogen content in the water sample. The total nitrogen content in the water sample can be obtained by measuring the absorbance of the compound.
The main application scenarios include the monitoring of enterprise rainwater and sewage, the monitoring of total phosphorus in municipal pipe network, pumping station, ground water, river water, lake water and sea water.
